The problem with Fleetmatics

It takes 20 years to build a reputation and five minutes to ruin it. If you think about that, you'll do things differently. – Warren Buffett

In every industry competition is apparent. Competition creates a healthy standard for product quality and consumer services. However, competition becomes destructive when dishonest business tactics are used to try and gain an upper hand.

From conversations with past Fleetmatics customers we have heard that Fleetmatics has gained a reputation for dishonesty. Withholding information regarding contract details, and directly lying to their potential clientele and existing customer base. These statements are strong accusations we would not make without proof.

A current (happy) customer of GPS Police under the company name of Lazaro Restoration (great restoration construction company BTW) informed our help desk on June 2nd that a sales team member of Fleetmatics by the name of Jay Cantwell phoned her. Mr. Cantwell told her misleading information regarding our business operations, and also claimed to have a complete list of our confidential clientele contact information. Further stating false accusations that GPS Police is forcing its customers to pay for an equipment upgrade before July 1st, 2016. This is one of the many phone calls GPS Police has received by its customers who informed us Fleetmatics contacted them. If this happened to you, please inform us.

Fleetmatics' lying will not be tolerated. Our friend, and Pit Bull, Allan J. Guty, will be pursuing legal action against Fleetmatics in the coming weeks once we obtain the full recorded telephone conversation.

Everyone at GPS Police is proud of the quality of our products, services and customer relationships. We try to keep our customers happy by treating them the way we would want to be treated. We aren't perfect, but we do try our best to fix any issue a customer may have. We will not be bullied or sullied by a competitor so quick to sell away its dignity at a red-light district.

A GPS Police blog post made on January 10th, 2016 stated that a 2G (GPRS network) sunset will occur across all network telecom carriers & providers putting our 3rd generation equipment out of commission. We are providing our customers with a free hardware upgrade in lieu of this inconvenience. Furthermore, we put this out to all existing Fleetmatics customers, in a contract or not:

GPS Police will beat any price Fleetmatics offers with better service, better equipment, better network, and all without a contract. GPS Police doesn't need contracts to retain happy customers. Contact us

Unhappy with Fleetmatics' shoddy product, poor customer service and lack of ethics? Our next blog post will discuss how legally-bound a Canadian company is to a Fleetmatics (American) contract.
